Through the years of his fieldwork with the Konso in Ethiopia and the Tauade in Papua New Guinea, Professor Christopher Hallpike has created a large collection of photographs. The pictures are in both colour and black and white. They capture life with primitive tribes and a lifestyle which is rapidly disappearing, as modern life takes over traditional culture. The collection of photographs is an important visual documentation of these primitive peoples.
The entire collection has been digitised and is available to view online via The Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford. When on The Pitt Rivers Museum's website, enter the search term "Hallpike" into the "Photographer" field and click the "Perform Search" button.
